Baltimore Hispanic Chamber of Commerce

Ken Olivers groupHispanic Democratic Club goes campaigning On Saturday the 24 of August, several members of the Hispanic Democratic club of Baltimore made the rounds to help several democratic campaigns throughout the area. First the group visited Ken Oliver's Fisf Fry on Liberty Rd. where they tasted the wonderful Lake Trout cooked by Al Robinson. In the picture above, Al Robinson, Ken Oliver and his campaign manager and Jorge Austrich and Paulette Pettit, president and Secretary of the Hispanic Democratic club respectively. Dutch and Jim SmithLater, the group went to Dundalk to the Johnny "O" Annual Family picnic where they met with Mr. Townsend, husband of Kathleen Kennedy Townsend, Admiral Larson, candidate for Lieutenant Governor, Dutch Ruppersberger, candidate for Congress, Jim Smith, candidate for Baltimore County Executive and a good number of candidates for several offices. A true democratic fest. The club is moving in local and state politics and its dynamic president is moving it in the right direction.

El miércoles 21 de septiembre se reunieron los "Demócratas por Ehrlich" para celebrar a su candidato y recaudar fondos. Varios cientos de personas, entre los que se encontraban los "Hispanos por Ehrlich" escucharon a su candidato prometer un "cambio radical en el estado." Entre los presentes vimos a Luis Borunda con su esposa, Luis y Eva Queral, Gabriel Armijo, Tony y Cristina Mosby, Jaime Schwartzberg, Manuel y Lola Albán, Angelo Solera, Carlos Torres, Charlie Ramos y Jorge Ribas (vean info sobre él), este último candidato republicano para Ejecutivo del condado de Montgomery. Es un avanzado estudiante de la Universidad de Maryland, lleno de entusiasmo y energía, que aspira ser nominado por el Partido Republicano al cargo de Delegado de la Legislatura del Estado por el Distrito 42, en las elecciones primarias de Septiembre 10. On August 6th, the Hispanic Democratic club of Baltimore in cooperation with Dick Colon, Bill Villanueva and Gilberto de Jesus offered a fundraiser and congratulatory party to Tom Perez. Hosted by Enrique Ribadeneira, owner of the Latin Palace who donated all the food and drinks, the party saw the presence of most of the Hispanic leadership in Baltimore. Present were, besides those named above Jorge Austrich, president of the Hispanic Democratic club of Baltimore, Gigi Guzman, chairman of the Maryland Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, accompanied by over twenty of her Gitech pupils, Javier Bustamante, Chairman and CEO of Spanish Town Community Development, Ray Perales, president of Open Tech Systems.

Gitech AwardsArizona Bar & Grill5th Annual Hispanic Workforce Gala celebrates its graduates
On July 26th. at the Fountain Bleu in Glen Burnie, Gitech celebrated the 2002 graduating class -73 of them- in its many disciplines. Gigi Guzman, the school director and Chaiman of the Maryland Hispanic Chamber of Commerce directed the event. Among the atendees we saw Jorge Austrich, President of the Hispanic Democratic Club, Luis Borunda, President of the Baltimore Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, Ben Mason, Executive Director of the Baltimore Chamber of Commerce, Dick Colon, Chairman of MACE Electric, Bill Villanueva, President of M&W Medical, Cecilia Castellanos and countless others. Kathleen Kennedy Townsend gave a rousing speech and told the community to watch Jorge Austrich and "learn his face well because he is destined to play a very important role" in her administration.
