Luis BorundaHispanics for Ehrlich
We just received the following letter written by Luis Borunda, Vicechair of the Hispanics for Ehrlich organization which we reproduce for its interest to the community:

"This election is by far the most important race for Governor in which we as Hispanics have ever had the opportunity to participate. It is imperative that we acknowledge that as a community we are not monolithic in our political views. We have many supporting the KKT campaign and many of us involved deeply and passionately supporting the Ehrlich campaign.
I want to express a partial expression of my views on why I support Republican views and the Republican Party and Bob Ehrlich. First, let me say that I am a "converted" Republican. I became a Republican when I began to see that the values that I hold as a Hispanic, values about

1) God
2) Family
3) Work

and many other areas which are traditional in the Hispanic home were eroded by the Democratic party agenda.

1) God has been part of the fabric of our country's development. The Republican party is not ashamed of that. Under the Democratic party those who would attempt to remove any references to God have made great strides. The fact that a liberal judge in California attempted to remove the phrase "under God" from our nations Pledge of Allegiance is proof of that.

2) The traditional Family is embraced by the Republican party. The Democratic agenda is attempting to redefine what the family is. This is substantiated by legislation regarding gay marriages proposed in various state legislatures and who is sponsoring this legislation. However, this is not the only issue that the Democratic agenda is proposing which undermines the very existence of the traditional family.

3) Hard work is what the Hispanic culture promotes. JFK said don't ask what your country can do for you; ask what you can do for your country. This is not a value that the Democratic agenda holds to any longer. Under Democratic leadership welfare roles have mushroomed because the incentive to work has been diminished. Why work if the Government will support you if you remain unwed and have a bunch of kids. Why work if you’re taxed to the point that you can make get more from the government welfare than you can by having a job that will give you self-esteem. The mantra seems to be "ask what your country can do for you and do as little for your country as you can". I don't hold to that, do you?

When we look at Bob's voting record we must look at the context of the bill and what the bill actually says.

We must understand that when a bill is proposed in congress the bill is extensive and has many sections and amendments attached to the bill. Any member of congress whether they are Democrats or Republicans does not agree with every single aspect of any given amendment or attachment. It is only fair that we look at the bill in its entirety to see if the concept of proposed legislation is something we can support. This is the system we have here in the US. Some may have problems with it, I for one do not.

The following are the bills that an unnamed Hispanic source has singled out. Please review them for yourself and judge for yourself.
