The Hispanic Democratic Club of Montgomery County, celebrated its 8th Annual Hispanic Heritage Gala and Awards Ceremony on October 15th at the Bethesda Marriot. The honorees were Kim Propeak, Co-Director of CASA of Maryland for her untiring efforts on behalf of the Hispanic community and Natali Fani, Executive Secretary of the Maryland Latino Coalition for Justice for her inspiring defense of the Hispanic immigrant to federal, state and local elected officials. At the Gala, the Maryland Democratic Latino Caucus was chartered with the three provisional co-chairs Ana Sol Gutierrez, Victor Ramírez and Tom Pérez. Democrats from all over the State were present at the elegant Gala. Representative Chris Van Hollen, County Executive Doug Duncan, State Democratic Chairman Isiah Legget, State Delegate Herman Taylor and members of many Hispanic Democratic Clubs, CASA de Maryland and other organizations shared the podium to congratulate the awardeess, and wish luck to the newly formed Caucus. All agreed to work hard to elect Senator John Kerry to the Presidency on November 2nd.
