years in the defense of our nation.

Dr. Ribas served twenty-eight
years as a senior officer in the defense
of our nation. As a Vietnam-Era Veteran, Dr. Ribas was recalled
to active duty three times by the U.S. Army
Surgeon General.

As a business entrepreneurhigh-technology
businessman in Montgomery County, Dr. Ribas understands the issues and
concerns of the our high -technology sector and small businesses community
and is committed to it’stheirits support.
Ø Biomedical
Scientist and University Professor
Dr. Ribas has devoted 25 years of scientific research to protect our
citizens against HIV/AIDS and other tropical infectious and parasitic diseases. As a medical sciences professor for 30 years, Dr. Ribas
has trained our next generation of medical doctors, scientists, and nurse
specialists.

generation of medical doctors, scientists, and nurse graduates
in human pathology and anatomy and in the
neurosciences.

With Sharon, his wife ofMarried to Sharon for
35 years, Dr. Ribas has lived, worked and raised his family in Montgomery
County. Sharon and Jorge are the proud parents of two graduates of public schools and the
University of Maryland.

Ø Relieve traffic

CONGESTIONTraffic Congestion –- by aggressively implementationing the recommendations of the Planning Board TPR ReportI will implement cost-effective solutions that
reduce commuting time and improve air quality. I will work with the County Council, citizens, neighboring
jurisdictions and State and Federal transportation agencies to widen existing roads, build approved new roads, expand light rail and the Ride-On bus system
and create incentives to increase carpooling and ride sharing throughout the County.

agencies to prioritize new road construction, light rail, and expansion of the
Ride-On bus system and develop incentives to increase car pooling and ride
sharing.
Ø EDUCATIONEducation – I will rRestore
Montgomery County public schools to
national educational leadership.
Ø To pENVIRONMENTEnvironment –- I will pprotect our environment and promote responsible
land use policies that lead
to sensible growth and conscientious stewardship of our environment. and to prepare our
communities for Homeland Defense.
Ø BUDGET MANAGEMENTBudget Management –- Restore
confidence in government, pI will pPrioritize services,
and bring runaway county budgets under control..

encourage fair tax policies
towards business and residents.
